Official Scouting Report

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Max showed offensive and defensive upgrades during his time in Pirate City. Hitting and power grades spiked to 48 and 50 respectively. Max makes hard/consistent contact through a square stance and solid bat speed. He swings in good rhythm, he loads well, and flashes pop in his bat. Defensively, Max holds a low target, he has quiet actions, and gains ground well. He centers the ball well, takes good angles to block, and his exchange is quick and clean. Pop times lowered to 2.33 seconds during the workout.

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Manalapan, NJ Max is a C prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and room to add throughout. At C, he showed efficient footwork, with a low sit, and good lateral range. Works to get around baseball as he gains ground to second base. Works thumb under baseball keeping balls in the strike zone. A clean exchange into a high 3/4 release point and arm velocity up to 76mph and a best pop time of 2.53 seconds. Creates good blocking angles, with chest over ball, and ability to cover the 5-hole. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a solid base and good setup. He takes an aggressive swing, with a good bat angle at contact, and ability to barrel up baseballs. Hit balls hard to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see Max making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
