02/23/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Max is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, Max starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Max shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-61mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 60-64mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Max improve as a pitcher. With three more years to develop, Max has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Max is an athletic and talented 2022 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Max starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has a middle approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, rotate his backside into the ball, and keep his head down at contact. On the bump, Max gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works north to south in his delivery. He commands his fastball and has a clean arm stroke. He needs to continue to keep a strong glove side and develop his changeup. Max will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Max is a solid 3B who will graduate in 2022. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to increase foot quickness and play through balls more. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Max has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

12/09/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training HS- Columbia, MD Max is a coachable hitter who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets into his load well. He loads his hands into the drive position and sprays the ball to all fields. Max can improve as a hitter by getting into his load earlier. With four more years to develop, Max has the time and potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
