Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the All-State event. At 2B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Max is a talented SS/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, he has quick feet and agile movements. Gains an athletic fielding position and his hands are soft. Fields out in front and separates in the middle of the body with a quick exchange. Uses a ¾ slot to make strong (81velo) and accurate feeds to his targets. Shows plus awareness on his dp feeds and turns. Working to shorten his arm path will quicken his release. On the mound, he has a whippy arm and displays athletic actions. His FB sat 71 and demonstrated late sink for ground ball production. His SL was down in the zone and had 10-4 action with late break. His CH sat 63-6 with run in the zone. At the plate, he begins with a tall stance and stay in his legs. Generates hard line drive contact to the middle of the field. Barrel is in the zone and gains proper extension. Overall, Max is a solid prospect in the 2024 class.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Max is an athletic SS who showed a promising future at the Pre-Season All American Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Max has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
