Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/10/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Jacksonville, FL Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 53 mph. Fastball shows a range of 51-53 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/12/2020 - Florida Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend Max is a lean RHP who will graduate in 2028. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 49-50 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 8 years to further develop, Max has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
