06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Maxwell is a 2027 OF/RHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the All-State Tournament in Mississippi. In the OF, he shows off athletic feet and range to the glove side and backhand. He does well to get in an athletic, squared fielding position to field the ball out in front. He creates momentum on his throws and shows off a solid arm, recording a raw velo of 79 MPH which is by far his best mark on the radar gun. He makes strong, accurate throws with carry to his targets. At the plate, he has a squared, athletic, relaxed stance with low, loose hands. He has an activated load and a short stride, and features on-time rhythm with a lower half that works through the baseball. He gets good extension on his swings and shows off good barrel control. He runs hard in both the OF and on the bases and displays a good attitude on the diamond. He recorded a max exit velo of 73 MPH and reached base in 2 of 6 plate appearances with a single and a walk. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and shows off solid arm strength. He has a simple, small starter step and clean arm action. He gets good extension and stays in-line to his target on delivery. He has good life on his FB, running it up to 71 MPH and good tilt on his breaking ball. He didn't allow a hit in 2 innings of game action and showed more control in his second appearance. Overall, Maxwell is an exciting prospect that should continue to develop nicely as he enters high school next fall!

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
