03/18/2018 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Michael is a tall and athletic 2020 Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Michael has a relaxed primary and an athletic secondary. He presents a big target and works behind the ball when receiving. He leads with his glove and controls balls in the dirt with his chest when blocking. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to bases. At the plate, Michael has pre-pitch rhythm in his hands and gets his front foot down on time. He stays balanced through contact and has a middle approach. Michael will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
