07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Michael is a coachable kid who is both athletic and confident on the field. He made very good improvements at Pirate City, especially in the outfield. Michael has above average arm strength, good accuracy, hands and range. Areas to improve upon would be judging fly balls, getting better jumps and overall footwork. At the plate Michael displayed good power, balance, lower half and his swing path is on-plane with extension. He needs to only load on time, keep hands higher and be more consistent. Michael has all the physical ability and a great attitude to match so if he continues to work there is no reason he should not find success in the future.

01/27/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Delray Beach, FL Michael is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and SS. In the OF, Michael shows good hustle, he fields out front, and his hands are playable. He uses 2 hands, his exchange is clean, and he throws with some accuracy to his target. At SS, Michael has good body language, he makes the routine plays, and he moves okay laterally. At the plate, Michael has a square set-up, good balance, and average bat speed. He swings a level stick, he can spray to all fields, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
