01/17/2025 - 2025 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Michael is a solid athletic RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid ac-tions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit ve-locity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will con-tinue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Joey has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
