11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Michael continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Fall Select showcase. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work to and through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. At the event, he was 3 for 5. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/30/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Michael is a talented OF/C in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he shows strong balance and presents a solid target for his pictures. Keeps his eyes behind the baseball and can maintain the strike zone. Uses a ¾ arm slot and has strength at 77 velo. Working to throw the top of the baseball will create a downward angle and consistent accuracy to the bag. Replaces his feet well on his blocks and is quick to recover. In the Of, he works to position himself behind the baseball with agile movements. His pocket has awareness and can redirect the baseball back to the dirt with a loose high ¾ slot. At the plate, he likes to make contact out in front of the plate and is quick to the baseball. Generates positive extension with an on-plane barrel. Shows production to the pull side and working to attack the inside part of the ball will allow him to use the middle of the field and adjust to location. Overall, Michael impressed scouts with his actions and they are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
