01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Michael is a talented backstop that hits from the left-side and will graduate this spring. Offensively, he works from the ground up with a sound base and balance that allows him to get to a strong hitting position. He delivers the barrel on a direct path to contact, generating plus bat speed and barrel accuracy with pull pop. Defensively, he sits athletically, receives in front with a sure glove, and has a quick exchange that gives way to pops in the 1.9 range. Overall - Michael fits that mold of a durable/athletic (6'/200 lbs) backstop that can hit in the middle of the lineup with a clean/powerful left handed stroke.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
