11/08/2009 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Michael is strong, athletic 1B, that hits from the left side. In the field, he has good balance, and has an accurate arm. Michael fields the ball out in front of his body, and also displays a good back hand. At the plate, he has quick hands, is direct to the ball, and has good barrel accuracy. If Michael can work to get his front foot down sooner, and work on a more consistent load, we could see his overall hitting and power improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
