08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Michael showcased good fielding ability, with a strong presence and dependable actions in the field. His approach at the plate was patient, allowing him to effectively work counts and choose pitches that he could handle well. However, he could benefit from staying taller during his swings and avoiding the tendency to dip his back shoulder, which would help maintain a more level swing plane and potentially increase his power and contact consistency. His instincts on the field were really good, contributing to smart plays and good decision-making in real-time situations. Additionally, his baserunning ability was really good, marked by quick decisions and aggressive yet smart base running, making him a significant asset on the paths. These combined skills highlight his comprehensive understanding and execution in various facets of the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
