10/05/2014 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Michael is a 2016 grad that projects as a LHP. On the mound, this southpaw has a high 3/4-arm slot with solid arm action, control, and delivery. He gathers himself over the rubber with his separation and direction all in rhythm. His stuff is repeatable which makes him a reliable arm in the rotation. His FB sits in the mid 70s with gradual movement down in the zone. He has a feel for his CB, which sits in the low 60s resembling a 1/7 shape. His CH sits in the low 60s slightly early break. Strengthening his arm by long tossing and using more of his lower 1/2 will give Michael improved abilities on the mound. This 2016 grad has potential and has a few more years to tap into that.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
