09/18/2024 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2026) Michael Iammatteo, a 1B/LHP, recently showcased his talent at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. On the mound, his command was a standout attribute as he consistently attacked the strike zone. His fastball topped out at 80 mph, complemented by a 70 mph breaking ball and a 73 mph changeup. Over two strong outings, he allowed only two hits and three walks across the week, demonstrating his effectiveness as a pitcher. At first base, Iammatteo’s sure hands were on display as he effortlessly handled tough picks in the dirt. Improving his foot speed will enhance his range defensively, but his glove work is already a clear strength. At the plate, Iammatteo had a productive weekend, reaching base in over half of his at-bats. He collected a single to center, reached on an error, and walked twice. With added strength and better use of his lower half, his power at the plate will continue to grow. Overall, Iammatteo is a solid ballplayer with a bright future.

04/28/2024 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Mike is a lean 5 ft 11/155 1B/LHP in the 2026 class. Defensively, he shows an athletic feel and can cover his area well with plus range. His feet are active and he creates fluid movements. His field to release actions are smooth and his loose arm plays at 82 with accuracy and carry. Demonstrates awareness around the bag and can adjust his feet based upon the feeds. On the mound, he repeats his delivery well and gains proper extension. His is around the zone and shows a solid front side. He uses a 3-pitch mix from a high 3 qtr. slot. His FB sat 75-6 and worked both sides of the plate. His SL ranged 68-9 with 1-7 shape and sharp late breaking action. His CH has feel at 72-3 and is deceptive from a natural and loose arm action. At the plate, he sees the baseball very well and works to stay inside. Generates smooth actions and gets his barrel on plane. Working to stay more balanced will allow him to unlock future power. Overall, Mike is a solid 2026 prospect to keep a close watch on.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
