07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Michael displayed solid defensive skills and a line drive type swing at the UA Southwest Championships. Actions are athletic in the INF, feet are quick, and he moves with good body control to the baseball. Michael has sure hands, good bag awareness, and he throws with a fluid / strong arm with accuracy to his target. He shows good athleticism with the ability to play either corner spot. Offensively, Michael has quick hands, solid hand-eye coordination, and good bat speed. He has strong hip action and displays pop in his bat. He puts the ball in play consistently and had several very productive at-bats. A hard worker - Michael brings his all to the field every day.

01/26/2014 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Michael is a stocky, solid 1B that will graduate in 2015 with superior tools across the board. Footwork around the bag is outstanding and is a quality receiver, displaying soft / sure hands and he shows the ability to pick balls out the dirt, saving throws. He attacks ground balls and shows big play potential at 1B. Throws are accurate with accuracy, life, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, displaying superior arm strength. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying super hitting and power numbers through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating tremendous bat speed to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel and uses his lower half well with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. He will hit and hit with power at the next level. Michael has the makings of a special type player at the next level and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his offensive and defensive abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
