01/18/2016 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Michael continues to work hard on his skills. He excels offensively through a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel at pitches he likes, connecting and driving the ball with some pop when centered. At 3B - Michael moves into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into a soft mitt. He makes the backhand play, has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws into his target. Presenting his glove out in front and gaining more ground through the GB toward his target will help to improve his skills at 3B. Michael has tools and will make things happen with the bat.

01/16/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Michael is a switch hitting 3rd baseman with a solid frame. Defensively, Michael has sure hands, playable feet, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Michael is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From both sides, Michael has a quiet / simple approach, good barrel accuracy, and he can hit to all fields. He has good balance, a short / square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. Overall abilities can improve if Michael can work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
