06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Jason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.14. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well as he moves well laterally displaying range. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver, displaying clean hands. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 2 for 9 with a 2B and 3B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is developed through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and is a hard worker.
