11/14/2010 - College PREP - Miami Gardens, FL Kelley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Pop times have really dropped now showing a range of 2.23-2.33 but will benefit by staying on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and carry. Receiving skills are well above average through an athletic setup. He gets down around balls in the dirt, working to keep all balls in front. Offensively, power numbers have improved to well above average. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off his bat when centered.

11/15/2009 - College PREP - Miami Shores, FL Michael is a young, thin C, with some good tools. He has a good set-up, a clean exchange, and his throws are on the bag. He is firm and relaxed when receiving, and he centers the ball and drops early when blocking. Michael will primarily need to work on strengthening his arm, as he mature and fills out. At the plate, he has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. Michael's swing is level, and he does tap into his lower 1/2 some. His hitting should improve if he can shorten his stride, and attack the baseball aggressively.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
