10/17/2010 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Michael is a tall, thin, Catcher that will graduate in 2013. Behind the plate, Michael tracks the ball well, has a soft / clean glove, and he shows natural instincts. He blocks the ball very well, drops to his knees quickly, and he softens if well on his chest. Michael has a quick transfer, he plays through the ball well, and throws with a loose arm, accurately to his target. If Michael can widen his base, gain ground, and avoid flying open, defensive grades can continue to get better. At the plate, Michael has a square set-up, short stride, and good balance. He has a proper load, average bat speed, and a line drive approach. Michael has a rhythmic swing, he gets good extension, and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. If Michael can shorten his swing and improve his barrel accuracy, solid grades can get even better.
