07/21/2010 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Michael is a strong, 2-way player that plays 1st base and LHP. In the INF, Michael has good footwork around the bag and he attacks the ball aggressively. He has a good set-up, fields the ball out in front, and works through the ball well. Michael makes plays on balls hit his way, and with quicker feet, and a quicker exchange, defensive grades can further improve. On the mound, Michael has a FB that touches 81 MPH and he delivers the ball with a good, loose arm action, on a slight downhill plane. He has good balance, he repeats his delivery, and is consistently in the zone with all of his pitches. Michael has good off-speed pitches, and with added arm strength mound effectiveness can further improve. Offensively, Michael has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a quick, compact swing and he keeps his hands close to his body. Michael has a short to long swing and good power into the gaps. If Michael can avoid over-rotating and lower his back elbow hitting numbers can climb. Michael has the potential to play either position in college but we especially like his bat and he is a big target at 1B
