07/13/2010 - College PREP - Washington DC, MD Mike is a young, athletic, SS that will graduate in 2013. Defensively, he attacks the ball aggressively and he uses 2 hands properly. He makes plays on balls hit his way and throws accurately with some carry across the diamond. Michael will need to improve his set-up, stay down on the ball, and field the ball further out in front of his body in order for defensive abilities to further improve. At the plate, Mike has some balance, a level swing, and he keeps his head still. He puts the ball in play, but will need to loosen his grip, avoid flying open, and use more lower 1/2, in order for offensive numbers to get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
