09/19/2010 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Michael is a tall, strong, Projectable Pitcher / OF who will graduate in 2011. On the mound, Michael has good balance and a nice / loose arm action. He keeps his eyes to his target, gets good separation, and he fills the zone with strikes. If Michael can use more legs, and improve his glove side lead, we could see his stock on the mound rise. In the OF, Michael has good hands and feet and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He has good athleticism, good range, and a reliable glove. Michael throws with good accuracy and carry to his target. OF skills can get better with more aggressiveness and better angles to the ball. At the plate, Michael has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a quiet / simple approach, strong hands, and pop in his bat. Michael makes good use of his lower 1/2, and if he can improve his load and extension, strong numbers can get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
