01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Michael is a young catcher with a thin frame. Behind the plate, Michael has playable hands and feet, and he looks the ball into his glove well. He makes the routine plays, his release is quick, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action to 2nd base. Quicker feet, improved lateral movements, and not stabbing will improve catching abilities. Offensively, Michael has a square set-up, a short stride, and good strike zone awareness. He sees the ball deep and puts it in play consistently. More direct hands to the ball, added bat speed, and better timing will sharpen hitting numbers.
