12/27/2012 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Vero Beach Mike is a right handed 1st baseman/Utility player who has the ability to play all positions. In the field Mike displays good glove skills with soft, sure hands. He has a long loose arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Mike could improve his forehand and backhand fielding position, his footwork around the bag at first base and at the other positions on the field, as well as being more aggressive. At the plate Mike has a square, athletic set-up with a good load and short stride. He takes aggressive swings at the ball and isn't cheated at the plate. Mike does have a lot of movement in his stride and load and needs to work on getting his front foot down on time. If he were to quiet the movement in his swing he would have better barrel accuracy and be able to keep his head down at contact, which would lead to more consistency in his hitting. With continued work on his mechanics, Mike's versatility gives him a lot of potential at the next level.
