12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Waddell improved his 60-yard dash from 8.40 down to 8.19. On the mound, his 76-79 fastball had occasional arm side run. His breaking ball had soft downward action with slight tilt. His delivery had fair balance, but he tended to stay upright and spun off with his front shoulder. His arm was a bit restricted on the back side, and worked across his body out front. In short, his pitching mechanics made it difficult for him to consistently find the strike zone. Defensively, he showed good hands and good footwork around the bag. At the plate, he hit from and open stance and tended to land open with his stride - causing his stroke to be too much with his hands and without much extension. He has some ability to work, both on the mound and as a position player.
