01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Michael is a 2-way player as a RHP/1B who graduates next year. On the mound, he works through quick temp and good balance. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and long/sound arm action. He commands the outer 1/2 of the plate and gets outs. FB now tops out at 76 mph and shows some run. CB has 10/4 shape and slight action. Defensively at 1B, Michael is aggressive and attacks the ball. He makes the plays and gives accurate throws to his target. Fielding more out in front and playing through the ball to his target will improve defensive abilities. As a hitter, Williamson gets into a solid loaded position and gets his lower 1/2 through, helping to create pop off of his barrel. He lets the ball travel into the zone and displayed patience with the willingness to take a walk. On the base paths, Michael shows good game awareness as he takes advantage of pitches thrown in the dirt and takes the extra base. With a few minor adjustments Michael will take big strides in his game.
