11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Michael is a coachable RHP/SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. On the mound is where Michael improved the most with a clean delivery and on time separation. He works with a loose, clean arm action as he extends through on his release, finishing square to his target. Michael shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 68-69mph with 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 61-66mph with arm side tail and sinking action. Michael can improve as a pitcher by keeping his eyes on his target throughout his motion. In the field, Michael shows active footwork and covers ground well. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. Michael can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact to all fields. At the event, Michael went 2-3 with a double, walk, and an RBI. Michael can improve as a hitter by gaining more lower half explosion. Overall, Michael is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.
