08/03/2011 - Pirate City World Series 2011 - Session 1 Miguel is a thin, athletic OF that will graduate in 2013. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.04 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He moves well laterally and reads balls well off the bat, displaying range in the OF but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but must get on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength with carry. Offensively, Flores shows a balanced approach with good rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path and show a solid feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a HR and 4 BB as he shows a good eye at the plate. With 2 years to further develop, Miguel has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
