08/12/2008 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Mike is a young, athletic second baseman with loose actions and life in his feet. He has a good feel on the backhand and on the double play. Would like to see him work the glove out in front more consistently. At the plate, he has good batspeed and a feel for the barrel. He is a line drive guy and uses the whole field. Lower half works pretty well, too. Will see even better contact and consistency as he learns to let the ball travel deeper in the zone. Good looking young infield prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
