07/09/2024 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Miles is a versatile INF/OF/P in the 2027 class. Scouts came away impressed with hos actions at the Cape Cod Experience. In the field, he has an athletic feel and uses his feet well. Moves with agility and his pocket has feel. Arm is loose with life at 75 velo and contains accuracy. Projects more of a 1B/corner OF, but scouts feel he should still train at 3B. He jumped on the mound and showed he can stay directional to his target. FB sat 66-7 and has an above average BB at 57-8. At the plate, he sees the ball well out of the hand and creates athletic movements with his swing. His barrel stays on plane and can drive the ball to the gaps. Collected 2 hits and a walk in game actions and scouts feel there is more in the tank for him offensively and he matures. Overall, he had a MVP type week and scouts feel his future is bright.

02/19/2024 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Miles is a tall, athletic 1B/OF who will graduate in 2027. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around ball and squares up. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft and presents out front. In the OF, he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He finds the barrel through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Miles has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
