02/20/2023 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Miles continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with online carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows setup. Hands are explosive and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Miles is an LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add strength throughout. In the OF, starts with active feet and ability to make routine plays. 1st step reads enable him to take aggressive routes to baseball. Fields from an athletic fielding position, with hands out front, and a clean exchange off his right foot. Made consistent throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with good carry, and arm velocity up to 80mph into infield. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. On-time stride, with a small hand load, and takes an aggressive swing. Gets on-plane early as he hit balls hard into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph. On the mound, he gets to a good balance point, with a clean leg lift, and lands square to target. Separates his hands on time, with a loose/clean arm stroke, and accelerates out front. Attacks hitters with a FB that sat 76-77mph with late life in zone, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball, a slider/cutter from same window as breaking ball, and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. With another year of continued growth and development, we see Miles having a bright future on the baseball field.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Miles improved his hitting abilities and power potential at the event. He shows a tall, open setup with solid hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/29/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Miles is a lean OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through well with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic, squared setup. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
