08/01/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Dallas, TX Miles is a solid plus catcher who excelled at the All-Ripken event, showcasing his ability to block pitches and effectively manage the running game. As a leader on Team Valor, he demonstrated a strong presence at the plate, consistently putting pressure on the defense throughout numerous at-bats. A highlight of his performance was a double he hit midway through the event, showcasing his offensive potential. On the mound, Miles featured a fastball with arm-side run, sitting between 58-61 mph, along with a breaking ball at 47 mph that exhibited good arm speed and command. His pitching ability is complemented by a strong feel for the game, as he effectively attacked hitters early in the zone. With his combination of defensive skills, leadership qualities, and offensive contributions, Miles is definitely a player to watch as he continues to develop.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Miles is an athletic 5ft 2/107 3B in the 2030 class out of Lubbock, TX. Scouts loved his energy and drive recently at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he begins in an athletic stance and attacks the baseball with smooth and controlled motions. The ball sticks to his glove and he can redirect with clean actions. Arm action is a low 3 qtr. slot and working to throw the top of the baseball will provide additional life to his 63 velo. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and shows loose hands. Gets into his load well and is in control of his body in the stride phase. Stays inside his feet well and is on-time to hit the baseball. He registered several quality at-bats in game action with 2 BB’s and productive outs. Overall, Miles was one of the youngest players at the event and he played above grade level.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Plano (DFW), TX Miles is a 3B/C prospect who will graduate in 2030. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B, he closes distance on batted balls and tracks balls to the glove. Works into a square fielding position with good glove actions and hands out front. Made on-line throws consistently from a 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 62mph. Behind the dish he gains ground to second base and has a high exchange. Shows good lateral range on his blocks and centers the baseball. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. A simple setup to start and takes an aggressive swing. Keeps bat flat in the zone for a long time and made consistent contact. During his round of BP, he hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 71mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development before he enters high school, we foresee Miles having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
