02/14/2010 - College PREP - Middleton, WI Mitch is a young, lean, athletic player, that plays SS and RHP. He currently projects better at SS than on the mound, but still has time to progress at both positions. At SS, Mitch has good footwork, and soft hands. He moves well laterally, gets rid of the ball quickly, and his throws have life and carry on them. If Mitch can work to field the ball more out in front of his body, and smooth out his backhand, defensive abilities can get better. On the mound, Mitch has okay mechanics, a live arm, and he throws a heavy ball. His CH showed to be his best pitch with good tail. If Mitch can avoid falling off to the 1st base side and improve his overall control, his stock on the mound could rise. Offensively, Mitch has good balance and bat speed. He tracks the ball well, has a level swing, and he sprays the ball to all fields. Mitch makes good use of his lower 1/2, and with an earlier start, and more consistent barrel accuracy, hitting numbers can get even better.
