08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Morgan, a right-handed prospect for Team Stripes at the All-Ripken games, demonstrated impressive ability on the mound by consistently working ahead of hitters. His mechanics featured balance and coordination, showcasing loose arm action and a full follow-through. His fastball sat at 54-56 mph with noticeable arm-side run, while his breaking ball displayed good spin at 47-49 mph. After taking time off to rest in the off-season, Morgan would benefit from a structured throwing program to build arm strength. At the plate, he exhibited a disciplined approach and solid bat-to-ball skills, applying pressure on the defense. Focusing on his mechanics with tee work and front toss will further enhance his hand-eye coordination, helping him elevate his performance both on the mound and at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
