09/19/2010 - College PREP - Milwaukee, WI Nate is a lean, athletic, 2-way player that Pitches and plays 2nd base. On the mound, Nate has loose actions, he keeps his eyes to his target, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. He has good glove side lead, he keeps his arm speed the same with all of his pitches, and he has life on his FB. If Nate can continue to add arm strength, and improve his CH, Nate's stock on the mound can rise. In the INF, Nate presents his glove well, shows soft hands, and he fields the ball out in front of his body. He has loose actions, he gets rid of the ball quickly, and he throws accurately across the diamond. Offensively, Nate has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a strong set-up, he gets good extension, and he stays inside the baseball well. Nate makes good use of his lower 1/2, and if he can stay closed, and keeps his shoulders back, solid offensive numbers will get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
