10/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Nate is an athletic C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.36 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup, tracks well, and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays, creating momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.34 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Nate has potential with time and room to progress his game.

06/02/2019 - Interactive Video Program - River Forest (Chicago), IL Nate is a strong, solid, 2-way player who showed nice improvements in many areas during his last workout. In the OF, Nate gets in a good ready position, he fields aggressively, and plays with good energy. He tracks the ball well, hands are firm, and he gains ground, throwing with momentum and accuracy from a short/loose arm action to his target. Behind the plate, Nate has active feet, a presentable glove, and his actions are quiet. He sits in squarely, blocks and receives well, and throws with pop times as low as 2.66 to 2nd base. Offensively, Nate is a strong hitter with good balance. He stands in the box squarely and he can hit to all fields. If Nate can work on the following, skills can continue to get better.

Outfield
1. Body control
2. Arm strength
3. Play more through
Catching
1. Loosen actions
2. Release
3. Set-up
Offense
1. Swing path
2. Rhythm
3. Lower body

05/07/2017 - Interactive Video Program - River Forest (Chicago), IL Nate is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 2B, he has active prep footwork and tries to work around the GB. He hustles, getting into a square fielding position and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he takes aggressive angles to track down the ball. He fields the ball in a square position and works to play through the ball towards his target. With the stick, Nate displays a quiet setup. He barrels up the ball and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Work low
2. Develop soft hands
3. Accurate throws
Outfield
1. Get behind the fly ball
2. Play through
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop rhythm to load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
