12/27/2008 - Under Armour Recruiting Classic 2008 Nathan showed as a RHP and as a catcher at the event. He does show ability at both positions. Arm strength is a plus and indicated by his top velocity of 84 mph and low pop time of 2.00. He shows off his athletic ability through the blocking process, keeping all balls in front. Receiving skills are solid average, working his mitt around the baseball and sticking balls in the zone. He does need to stay on a strict long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. At the plate, Arnold continues to shine. He shows line drive to gap power, displaying a solid feel for the barrel. He utilizes all fields by keeping hands inside the baseball. He was 4 for 10 with a 2B at the event. On the mound, delivery is smooth and repeatable allowing his arm to work easily and smooth through to the plate. He has command of 3 pitches and attacks the strike zone, utilizing both side of the plate. With 2 years to further develop, Nathan has the makings to become a solid player at the next level, possibly a two way player.
