01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Nathan continues to showcase his baseball abilities at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. FB shows a range of 80-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch that will get outs. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws are accurate with on line zip (82 mph velocity) to his target. Nathan has a big upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Nathan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball showed a range of 77-80 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late, sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch that will get outs. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/10/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Nathan is a talented/projectable LHP who pounds the zone with strikes. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 78-79 mph as it has good arm-side run. Breaking ball shows 1/7 shape with gradual break. Changeup has good sink and compliments his FB well. He commands the zone and can spot up on all 3-pitches. With the bat, this lefty shows a squared stance with an aggressive approach as he's looking to swing it. Quick hands (85 mph exit velocity) whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and hits hard line-drives. Nathan is a skilled (2022 grad) RHP who will toe the rubber and compete.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
