11/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Katy (Houston), TX Nathan is an athletic C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish, Nathan is active moving to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. He sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws to the 2B bag. Sitting in a more square stance can help Nathan improve his overall catching ability. At SS, Nathan creates good angles and fields in a square position. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate across the diamond. Nathan can field ground balls more efficiently by presenting his glove out in front to the ball. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and engages his lower half well. He gets good extension through his swing and drives the ball from gap to gap. Working through a shorter swing can help Nathan barrel up more baseballs. Overall, Nathan is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
