10/08/2023 - National Showcase - Visalia, CA Nathan is a strong 5ft 8/180 3B in the 2027 class. In the field, he has pre-pitch movement to create energy. Range is a plus and moves with agility. Gains a low fielding position and fields out in front of his body. Shows pocket feel and strong actions to his arm side. Arm plays at 77 and working to shorten his arm action will lead to increased accuracy. At the plate, he begins with an open stance from the right side. Gains a short stride and stays inside his feet. Hits off a firm front side to produce line drive contact. Working to get his foot down on time, will assist with pitch selection. Overall, Nathan is a solid 2027 player with a bright future. Scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Nathan is a 2028 3B prospect who recently showed his skills at the All-State Tournament. At third, he shows off good range to the glove side and does well to square ground balls up with his hands fielding out in front. He has a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly from a high 3/4 arm slot, making accurate throws across the diamond. He recorded a raw velo of 73 MPH. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and features a 3-pitch mix. He gets good extension on his delivery and keeps his eyes to his target while showing off a clean arm action. His FB reached a max velo of 64 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a squared, tall, relaxed stance with comfortable hands. He really attacks the baseball with a quick bat and on-time rhythm, working through the baseball with his lower half. Shows some strength and barrels the ball up consistently to the gaps, with good rotation and coordinated hips and hands. He recorded a max exit velo of 77 MPH. In game action, he reached base in 5 of 7 plate appearances, with 3 walks, a double and a single. Nathan is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he continues to develop!

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Nathan is an outstanding 3B in the 2027 class. He is a polished player in the field and at the plate. He is an exceptional teammate and plays with positive body language. In the field, he has a relaxed feel and creates solid angles to the baseball. Gains an athletic fielding position and has strong glove presentation. His field to throw is quick and he is accurate to his targets. At the plate, Nathan is an advanced hitter for his age. Has a quiet approach and is balanced. He uses a short stride and stays inside his feet. Hands are quick and his barrel is on-plane. Attacks the inner half of the baseball and has a middle of the field approach. Nathan can benefit from a strength and agility program to improve his overall range in the field. Overall, Nathan is a future star on the diamond.

07/17/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Fresno, CA Nathan is a 3B prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B, he works to center the baseball, with active footwork, and showed ability to make routine plays. He closes distance on baseball and works from down to up with a low funnel. Has a quick exchange as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 66mph. He showed a quick release and made accurate/on-line throws across the diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Starts with a short glide step and keeps his weight between his knees. Showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone as he hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development until he graduates, we foresee this young prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

03/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Fresno, CA Nathan is a solid 3B who will graduate in 2027. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 6 years to further develop, Nathan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
