02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Nathan is a hardworking OF that attended the BF Opening Day Classic. On the OF, Nathan tracks the ball well off the bat showing athletic movements and effective footwork. Whether the ball is on the ground or in the air he works behind the ball well taking good direction towards his target. He shows a sure glove making clean exchanges and gets rid of the ball with a loose and short arm action. The ball is delivered to the infield with accuracy and carry. At the dish, Nathan sets up in an open stance keeping loose and comfortable hands. He works hard to get his lower half through and get on plane. He rotates his core well allowing him to take a solid line drive approach. Nathan will continue to develop, and we look forward to seeing his progress.

01/15/2021 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (HS) Nathan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.30 runner. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 1 for 1 with 2 BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Nathan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7. 33 runner. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a 2B and 3 BB. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-69 mph with slight cut. He needs to develop off speed pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/30/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Nathan is a R/R (5'7"/145) OF who graduates in 2021. Defensively, he takes good angles and hustles to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He works into position behind the ball, secures it with 2-hands and follows through on his throws well. As a hitter, this righty displays an open stance with patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He connects and creates good extension through contact, spraying the ball to all parts of the field. More lower 1/2 drive will help to tap into more power potential. Nathan has skills with still time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
