08/11/2008 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Nathan is tall, and lean, and he has some time to develop into his frame adding to his current tools. As a pitcher, he shows a good balance point and a decent arm. With some mechanical development, his velocity and action on his pitches will show better. He tends to loose his direction in his delivery and fails to pull with his glove side. Acquiring better finish and extension towards the plate is another area that will help his arm show better. Being that he is a left-handed pitcher, he will get some looks from college coaches, as that is an area of high value. At the plate, Nathan displays a nice level swing that is consistently on the plane of the ball, giving good back-spin, for better carry. A few areas for improvement include developing a better base for balance, and working on a being on-time with his load. Both of these components will help his consistency and power. Defensively, Nathan lacks preliminary movement with his feet and he'll work to field the ball out in front more, but he does a nice job of keeping the ball in front. He has good consistency with his feed on double play balls to second, as he slings the ball against his front side. Overall, Nathan is fairly young, with time to develop more skill and strength to his frame. The combination of these, will allow his tools to play well, making his a college prospect.
