Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nathan is an athletic, strong 1B/RHP out of Chicago, IL who showed as a prospect at the Baseball Factory Pre-Sason All American event. At the plate, he displays above average hitting/power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents out front. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 73-78 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Nathan has as a lot of potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
