04/28/2013 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Nathaniel is an athletic/well built prospect - 6'1"/195 lbs. - that plays in the outfield and at the hot corner. At third, he is athletic in his fielding position with plus range and displays good body control - working low to field. His hands are soft and he has active feet. In the outfield, he has sure hands and is aggressive to ground-balls. He works behind in most cases and plays through - showing carry on some throws. A long toss/throwing program will help his game tremendously, and allow for even greater range. Offensively, Nathaniel is athletic in his setup, generates decent bat speed and shows good extension, at times. There are slight mechanical touch-ups needed, but he has a decent idea. In all, Nathaniel is an athletic/raw player - with some untapped ability - that will graduate in 2014.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
