09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Nicholas is a class of 2022 2B/SS prospect. In the field, he shows off a good arm up to 83 MPH. Also shows accurate throws across the diamond. Works through the baseball and has momentum to throw. At the plate, he shows a good setup and stride. Did a good job activating his lower ½ in his load. Nicholas is a good player that we hope to see more of in the future.

07/07/2020 - All-In Membership - Trenton, NJ Nicholas is an athletic R/R MIS who showed well on the diamond. Defensively, he has quick/active prep footwork taking good routes right to left to the GB. Hands are soft has he gathers smoothly. Ball is quick from glove to hand with a quick transfer and accuracy on his throws. With the bat, this righty maintains a balanced setup with a solid base. Swing is direct on-plane as he connects and hits hard line drives. Added power will come with more use of his lower 1/2. This 2022 grad has a solid skill-set with upside.

12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Nicholas is a talented, and hard working player that made several adjustments to improve his skills during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Nicholas has an athletic stance, and has a squared stride. He creates rhythm in his load, and stays balanced through contact. He has good bat speed and attacks the inside part of the ball. Continuing to use the backside will allow him to free up his hands while getting the barrel to contact. Working on pitch recognition and timing drills will further excel this young prospects skill. Nicholas will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/15/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Nicholas is a (2022 grad) at SS/OF. Defensively at SS, he makes active cuts/angles as he tries to work into a square fielding position on GB's. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. In the OF, he hustles laterally as he tracks down fly balls hit to his right and left. He plays through the ball and makes strong throws to his cut-off man. As a hitter, this righty shows a square setup with a quiet head. He swings on a level path through the zone and consistently drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Play low
3. Develop soft hands
Outfield
1. Work behind on fly balls
2. Quick exchange to throw
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
