03/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Fresno, CA Nicholas is an athletic OF/2B who will graduate in 2022. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Nicholas has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
