08/04/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Middletown, CT - PM Nicholas is a tall, thin, 2-way player that plays 1B and RHP. In the INF, Nicholas makes plays on balls hit his way and fields it out in front of his body. He has average hands, a soft backhands, and throws accurately to his target. Nicholas can improve in the INF if he can get his glove down sooner, stay in a lower position, and finish off his throws. On the mound, Nicholas has a live / quick arm and an effective CB. He repeats his delivery well, competes in the zone, and is able to keep his arm speed the same with all of his pitches. Mound effectiveness can improve if Nicholas can finish off his pitches better and add arm strength. Offensively, Nicholas has a loose grip, he throws his barrel to the ball, and he can spray the ball to all fields. He puts the ball in play and makes okay use of his lower 1/2. A wider base and added bat speed should help average hitting numbers get better.
