04/28/2024 - National Showcase - Rosemont (Chicago), IL Nicholas continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most with well above average hitting/power potential through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nick is is a 1B in the 2025 class out of Verona, WI. In the field, he creates a positive glove angle and fields in a squared stance. Has pocket feel and secures the baseball well. Throws from a high ¾ slot and the ball comes out clean. At the plate, he begins with an open stance and has a level path. Rotates his hips well and ball comes off the bat with some explosion (80 exit velo). Nick is a projectable player and with some positive reps, can turn into a solid prospect in the 2025 class.

02/21/2022 - All-In Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Nicholas is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Nicholas shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets back into his load well. He works through a level swing with good bat speed, driving the ball to his pull side. On the mound, Nicholas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and keeps his pitches around the zone. Nicholas operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 60-61mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 57-59mph. Overall, Nicholas is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
