12/27/2010 - Christmas Camp and Tournament 2010 - Session 2 Nicholas is a young two-way player at 3B plus on the mound with a broad, athletic body that is well suited for his position and shows projection as he continues to improve. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.27 60 time as he utilizes his quick feet well in working around and playing through the baseball with his body. He moves well laterally, displaying range and shows a sure glove in making the plays. Throws display life, carry, and accuracy as he throws from multiple arm angles. Offensively, Kolat shows a balanced approach and is aggressive with his hands through the zone. Lower half works well through the swing with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. He displays future power potential with strength in his swing. On the bases, he is smart and utilizes quick feet to put pressure on defenses. On the mound, fastball 78-80 mph with slightly above average off speed pitches that flash potential as being quality pitches with further development. With 2 years to further develop, Nicholas has a lot of potential with the makings to be a solid player as he continues to improve.
