06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Nick is a lean, athletic 2B who will graduate in 2018. At 2B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying sure hands as he makes the plays. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to increase foot quickness and play through balls more. At the plate, he shows an athletic/squared setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power numbers will increase as he works to use his lower half more aggressively. He is a hard worker and plays the game with a lot of energy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
